Geothermal Risk Mitigation Facility (GRMF)
The Red Rose team are leading experts in acquiring and developing projects with international development funding, in particular the Geothermal Risk Mitigation Facility (GRMF) which supports geothermal power and direct use project development in East Africa.
The Red Rose team has been actively involved with the GRMF since 2015 and has a 100% grant award success rate for projects we have been involved with. We offer our services to compile and perform reviews of applications for project finance, as well as undertaking project management and completing surface exploration activities awarded funding in accordance with the GRMF guidelines.
The GRMF is a well-funded, German backed entity that has awarded over $130m in non-repayable grants to geothermal projects (surface studies and drilling). The GRMF supports both power and direct use projects, offering non-repayable grants, with 80% funding available for surface studies.
Projects must be in the GRMF’s list of eligible countries: Burundi, Comoros, DRC, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia. More information can be found on the GRMF website.
